SR 952 Health Insurance now mandatory with all Visas

The Government of Saudi Arabia has taken its decision to implement mandatory health insurance for all types of visas. The insurance should cover medical assistance and emergency evacuations for all the visitors intending to fly to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Nearly 1.6 million expat visitors, mainly corporate visitors and relatives of expatriates, visit Saudi Arabia annually.

The health insurance certificates will be issued from the Enjaz banking system of Saudi Embassy by paying SR 952 SR equivalent to USD $ 254 which has to be paid along with the visa fee. The Embassy will only accept health insurance certificates from the subscribed insurance companies by Enjaz banking system. From 17th Oct on wards Saudi Embassy will not entertain any visa applications submitted without health insurance.

Just to make you understand what it means to you If you are applying for the family visit visa the fee will further increase to 3,200 SR as you have already paying 2,000 SR per passport, this huge hike in the visa fees will surely discourage visitors.
