The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has shunned down all the rumors circulating on social media and local news websites that expats who are over 40 years of age would get deported.
The official
source from the ministry said “It was fake news and that such rumors distress
expats living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” He added that the Ministry of
Labor and Social Development publish news and rules through their official
websites.
According to Dr. Naseer Ali Arifi who is the
Head of Academic Studies and also a Professor of Criminal Psychology at King
Fahd Security College “The main purpose behind spreading such rumors is to
destabilize the Kingdom’s economy, spreading chaos that affects the relationship
between the locals and expats”.
Spreading rumors with the intention to
harm the well being of the society is punishable by law not only in Saudi
Arabia but all around the world. Dr. Arifi also insisted that any local citizen
or expat can have information directly from official news sources or from the Saudi
Press Agency.
